Kambala Boarding Feature 1

Overlooking the iconic and picturesque Sydney Harbour, Kambala’s Boarding provides a nurturing and supportive Boarding experience for approximately 50 girls, where they encourage each other and foster deep and lasting friendships.

We recognise the significant time Boarders spend away from home and the School collaborates closely with parents and carers to ensure a supportive ‘home away from home’.

A pastoral care team comprising Boarding staff, academic tutors, medical professionals, and counsellors, overseen by the Head of Boarding, provides comprehensive support. Additionally, each new Boarder is paired with a buddy to facilitate their adjustment.

Being a Boarder at Kambala enhances your overall experience at our wonderful School. From the moment you start with us, you will be part of a family, a family that raises young women of integrity who will graduate with a level of maturity, resilience and resourcefulness that will support and encourage a truly global perspective.

Care and community are at the heart of Kambala’s Boarding team, where every girl is nurtured and challenged to realise her full potential for personal and academic excellence. “

A REAL HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Our family-style Boarding community means that every Boarder is known and cared for, and close-knit friendships can be formed.

Kambala’s Boarding experience is a nurturing one, where students develop holistically. Our Boarding model focuses on fostering a strong sense of belonging for our Boarders and a strong sense of community for their families. We support academic engagement, and place an emphasis on healthy lifestyle habits so our girls thrive.

We pride ourselves on a robust pastoral support system, established to guide and assist students in their wellbeing journey. Small cohort mentoring forms a central part of the Boarding program informed by current best practice in girls’ development.

Kambala offers a family-style Boarding experience for approximately 50 girls from Years 7-12, in our purpose-built Boarding House Fernbank. Fernbank accommodates girls in twin rooms from Years 7-11 and Boarders have their own accommodation room in Year 12, which is ideal for supporting their learning and commitments during these important 12 months.

There are a number of common rooms to encourage sisterhood across the year groups and also a generous amount of outdoor space to support healthy living and relaxation.

Read our brochure, ‘Boarding at Kambala’, for further insight into our Boarding staff, the activities we offer and the unique benefits of Boarding.

Family-style Boarding helps create a strong sense of community and provides opportunities for mentorship, while allowing social skills, independence and resilience to flourish. “

A GLOBAL BLEND

Our Boarding community is a melting pot of young women hailing from various regions of NSW, Australia, and abroad, enriching our girls' global perspective.

The diverse blend of cultures, personalities, interests, and backgrounds within Kambala’s Boarding community creates a vibrant and dynamic environment for young women to thrive.
