APPLICATIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

The application process for scholarships generally opens in October of each year with testing held the following February. Successful applicants are generally advised by April for commencement the following year.

Applications are welcomed from girls currently enrolled at Kambala or attending other schools at the time they apply.

Means-tested scholarships are granted based on academic merit and demonstrated financial need, which requires submission of supporting financial documents.

Candidates may apply for one or multiple scholarships, provided they meet the entry requirements.

SCHOLARSHIPS
ON OFFER

Open Academic Scholarship
(External and current Kambala students)

This scholarship is awarded on academic merit and covers full or partial academic tuition fees for the final two years of primary education and the next six years of secondary education. This scholarship is open to girls currently in Year 4 who will be entering Year 5 the following year.

Open Academic Scholarship
(External and current Kambala students)

This scholarship is awarded on academic merit and covers full or partial academic tuition fees for the six years of secondary education. This scholarship is open to girls currently in Year 6 who will be entering Year 7 the following year.

Kambala Council Academic Scholarship (means-tested, external students only)

This scholarship is awarded on academic merit and covers full or partial academic tuition fees for the six years of secondary education. This scholarship is open to girls currently in Year 6 who will be entering Year 7 the following year. This scholarship is awarded on academic merit in conjunction with demonstrated financial need and requires provision of supporting financial documentation.

Music Scholarship (means-tested, external students only)

This scholarship offers full or partial tuition fees for the six years of secondary education. It is awarded on musical and academic merit in conjunction with demonstrated financial need and requires provision of supporting financial documentation.

The student’s musical progress is monitored and the scholarship
is usually evaluated in Year 10. Based on the audition process and results of the academic examination, the Director of Music makes recommendations to the Bursary and Scholarship Committee. This scholarship is open to girls currently in Year 6 who will be entering Year 7 the following year.

Extra curricular Scholarship (means-tested, external students only)

Kambala awards an extra curricular scholarship to a student entering Year 7 who is outstanding in either team/individual sports, debating, public speaking, creative arts or drama and willing to contribute to the full life of the School. The scholarship offers full or partial tuition fees for the six years of secondary education. Supporting documentation is reviewed by the Bursary and Scholarship Committee with reference to the academic examinations. This scholarship is open to girls currently in Year 6 who will be entering Year 7 the following year. This scholarship is awarded in conjunction with demonstrated financial need and requires provision of supporting financial documentation.

Rose Holdsworth Boarding Scholarship (means-tested, external students only)

This scholarship is awarded on academic merit in conjunction with demonstrated financial need. It covers full or partial tuition fees for the six years of secondary education and is open to girls currently in Year 6 who will be entering Year 7 the following year.

Boarding fees are not included in this award. Provision of supporting financial documentation is required.

Rural Assistance Boarding Bursary (means-tested, external and current Kambala students)

This scholarship may be awarded to a girl entering any year level in the Senior School as a Boarding student. The bursary is based on demonstrated financial need and requires the provision of supporting financial documentation. To apply, a written submission to the Principal must be made by the student detailing why they wish to be educated at Kambala and the contribution they can bring to the School. Parents are requested to also write to the Principal outlining financial need and including supporting financial records. Applicants are not required to sit for scholarship examinations to be eligible.

International Baccalaureate Scholarship
(External students only)

This scholarship may be awarded to a girl entering Year 10 to commence the IB in Year 11 and 12. This scholarship is awarded on academic merit and covers 50% of tuition fees. It is awarded to students who commit to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Kambala.

Hawke Scholarship
(External and current Kambala students)

This scholarship is for daughters or granddaughters of Kambala Old Girls entering Year 11. It is awarded on academic merit and covers half tuition fees for the final two years of secondary education. It is open to girls currently in Year 10 who will be entering Year 11 the following year.

International Baccalaureate Scholarship
(External students only)

This scholarship may be awarded to a girl commencing the IB in Year 11. This scholarship is awarded on academic merit and covers 50% of tuition fees. It is awarded to students who commit to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Kambala.
