THE SCHOOL COUNCIL
Established in October 1926, Kambala's School Council continues to play a pivotal role in the institution's governance.
The Council comprises ten members, including alumnae and parents. The Council’s diversity is ensured by including nominees from both the Kambala Old Girls (KOG) and the Sydney Anglican Archdiocese. Councillors are selected for their skill sets that contribute to the school’s governance, with a skills matrix guiding the nomination process. These nominees are then proposed to the Association Members at the Annual General Meeting for election.
The Council convenes a minimum of six times a year, with the Principal participating in all meetings. In addition there are four sub-committees – each with a distinct Charter of Governance — overseeing Building and Property, Finance Audit and Risk, Investment, and Nominations.
The Council’s responsibilities extend to appointing the Principal and bestowing upon them the management and leadership of the school.
