THE EXECUTIVE TEAM

Carolyn has a diverse professional background having worked in Banking and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs in New York prior to teaching. As an Educator she has taught in schools in Sydney along with having taught internationally for 11 years. Her international experience included International schools in Yokohama - Japan, Khartoum - Sudan and Erlangen - Germany. She brings global experience and perspective to the Kambala context.

Carolyn is responsible for developing a culture of innovative and exceptional teaching, and for leading, designing and managing high quality programs which meet the individual needs of students. She is also responsible for leading the Schools’ Academic Leaders team.

Samantha has taught and led in a variety of capacities and across Kambala’s Junior and Senior School, and her experience has provided her with deep insights into the holistic development of young women. Samantha has held a number of key roles across the school including Acting Head of Junior School, Director of Curriculum and Executive Director of Kambala's Institute of Teaching Excellence. She has studied as a research assistant at UNSW, contributing to the research field of professional development for teachers, a special interest that drives her work at Kambala.

This role assumes the responsibilities of Wellbeing across the Senior School. Samantha will be instrumental in the strategies regarding nurturing confident, capable and connected young women in our care.

Stuart has worked for more than 25 years in a variety of educational settings. He began his career in remote area co-educational schools in Far North Queensland and the Gold Coast before moving to girls’ educational contexts where he has remained in leadership positions for the past 20 years. He is devoted to evidence-based best practice linked to girls’ education.

Stuart is a dynamic and dedicated educator and is responsible for the wellbeing, attendance and academic care of all students from Early Learning (Hampshire House) to Year 6 and the efficient functioning of relevant staff.

Prior to joining Kambala, Tamara was a clinical psychologist in private practice and at Sydney Children’s Hospital, whilst also undertaking and publishing research.

Having held several key positions at the School, Tamara leads change to deliver continuous school improvement initiatives. She provides evidence-based support for the efficient management of the School’s operations and delivery of the strategic plan. She also oversees the Philanthropic strategies for the School.

Rebecca has diverse communications and marketing experience across Advertising, Hospitality, Tourism, Sport, Retail and Education industries. Her experience has focussed on B2C environments with an emphasis on strategy, marketing communications, brand management, content, e-commerce, and digital.

Rebecca is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of all marketing, branding and communications strategies in line with the Strategic Plan. Community engagement and stakeholder relations also form part of her role responsibility.

Jesse has diverse governance, finance and IT experience across Telecommunications, Government, Building Materials and Education. Predominantly as a finance lead, Jesse has worked in large organisations across Australia, China, Fiji and Tonga.

Jesse is responsible for the financial stewardship and governance of Kambala, ensuring the school remains in a strong position to continually enhance the quality of its educational offerings.

Lauren is an accomplished educator with 18 years’ experience across sectors. As a passionate advocate for girls’ education, she has held leadership roles at Kambala including Head of English and Director of the Kambala Institute of Teaching Excellence. Guided by a belief in collaborative and dynamic approaches to curriculum, she also contributes to the broader educational community through presenting and partnerships. Recognising her commitment to advancing girls’ education globally, she was selected as a Global Action Research Collaborative fellow for the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools in 2024.

Lauren shapes whole-school teaching and learning culture by driving targeted professional development, fostering student and community engagement, and ensuring Kambala remains at the forefront of educational innovation.
