Historic Gold to Kambala Junior Relay Team at IGSA Athletics

IGSA Athletics was conducted on a wet track, but the Kambala team proved they definitely ‘Don’t melt in the rain’ as Mr Coppin would say with girls winning a large number of medals and achieving their personal best. The team had many girls competing up age groups and they performed exceptionally well.

The Junior Relay team of Elizabeth Coulston, Alina Meers, Gia Goldberg and Minty Dusseldorp won a historic gold medal in convincing fashion. The trophy has the name of every school who has won since 1961 and now Kambala will be engraved on it for 2025. It was an outstanding achievement to win in the 100th year of IGSA Sport. The team proved hard work, commitment and persistence pay off.

The team were not fazed by the wet conditions in the final with a winning margin of 8 metres. Each team member began her relay career in Junior School and I was so proud to see them cross the finish line.
