PURPOSE AND VALUES

Kambala Purpose and Values Hero scaled

Our purpose

Our central purpose is to instil unwavering courage and curiosity to educate women of ambition, integrity and consequence.

Our Mission

To challenge and nurture every girl to realise her full potential for personal and academic excellence. We honour our heritage and Anglican traditions whilst creating an environment of innovation and change. As a community we embrace diversity, foster inclusion, and celebrate our capacity to make a difference in the world.

Our values

Our core values of Humanity, Courage, Curiosity and Respect are not merely aspirational; they are practical directives that shape the daily life of the school, influencing teaching methods, learning experiences and the personal development of girls and staff.

Inclusively and actively engaging with the world.

Leading boldly, undaunted by challenge, advocating for ourselves and others.

Perpetually learning and forging our own meaning.

Amplifying kindness with faith, empathy and heart.

Our motto

In 1924, under the Headmistresses Miss Minnie Roseby and Miss Clara Roseby, the school motto was chosen. The motto was announced in The Kambala Chronicle, August 1924. It states:

“We have adopted as our School motto, ‘Esto sol testis’ (Let the sun be our witness). It means ‘everything above board and in the light of day’ – a very bright and inspiring message.”

A School in the Anglican Tradition

Kambala is a school in the Anglican tradition. We maintain a wonderful relationship with St Michael’s Anglican Church in Vaucluse, and the girls attend some events there throughout the year.
