In Term 2, Stage 3 students worked in groups to complete challenges requiring higher order thinking skills, problem solving and creativity, at the annual da Vinci decathlon. With over 1000 students competing on the day, our teams achieved excellent results. Tournament of the Minds, in Term 3, was also a highlight. Three teams prepared presentations on six-week challenges based on The Arts, Language-Literature and Social Sciences. Stage 3 students expanded their research and writing skills when creating presentations for The National History Challenge. This year’s theme, Crisis and Response, fostered research on topics such as global pandemics, world wars and apartheid. Year 6 Students Iolanthe and Piper attended a ceremony at the Australian National Maritime Museum to receive the NSW first prize for their outstanding presentation.
