Sisterhood Circles: Building a Culture of Mentorship Across Kambala

The Sisterhood Circles initiative began last year as a way to foster meaningful, inter-cohort connections at Kambala. Each Circle – or Kambala ‘family’ – is made up of students from multiple year levels and is led by two Year 12 students. The aim is to build relationships that transcend age groups and peer cohorts, promoting belonging and sisterhood.

Sisterhood Circles are organised by House and named after specific flowers (e.g. Gurney Rose, Hawthorne Lily), as a tribute to Kambala’s “fair hill of flowers” mentioned in our school song. Groups meet throughout the year in both morning and extended sessions, with students ranging from Year 1 to Year 12.

Each Circle maintains a scrapbook known as the Legacy Piece, which is added to over time. The vision is for students to remain in their Sisterhood Circle throughout their entire Kambala journey – so a student in Year 1 today will eventually lead her Circle as a Year 12 in the future.
