ENROLLING
AT KAMBALA

Kambala Enrolling at Kambala Hero

We are delighted you are considering Kambala for your daughter’s education.

We encourage parents, carers and students to attend a Principal’s tour or arrange a personalised visit. Applications for waitlisting can still proceed without a tour or visit having taken place.

The main entry points at Kambala are generally Preparation, Year 5, Year 7, and in Year 10, ready for the International Baccalaureate in Year 11.

For Preparation, a student must turn four by 31 March of the intended entry year. Year 7 is a major intake year for Kambala, and we recommend placing your daughter’s details on the waitlist as soon as possible.

A limited intake is made in Year 3, while entry to other year groups is dependent on availability.

Please contact our Enrolments team should you wish to discuss age-appropriate placement.

Priority is given to daughters or granddaughters of Kambala Old Girls, to those with sisters already attending and to Boarders, subject to availability.

An application form is required for each student wishing to enrol at Kambala. Places are offered two years in advance of the year of intended enrolment. Once a place is accepted, a non-refundable entrance fee is required to secure the place.

Please note that receipt of an application does not guarantee a place at Kambala.

Kambala caters to approximately 1000 students across Hampshire House, Junior School and Senior School.

Students do not sit an entrance exam, however, all students entering Year 3 onwards sit placement testing as part of their orientation activities. This testing provides staff with information regarding every girl’s learning needs moving forward.

Hampshire House, early learning school, is licensed for 70 students each day.

From Preparation to Year 2, there are two classes of 20 in each cohort.

In Years 3 and 4, there are two classes of 24 in each cohort.

In Year 5 and 6, there are three classes of 24.

In the Senior School, average class sizes are 20.

Kambala charges tuition fees and a consolidated fixed charge each term. This charge covers activities such as camp, IT levies and other incidental charges.

Kambala routinely engages with The Scots College, Cranbrook School and Sydney Grammar School for various activities including music, drama and career expos. We also participate in curriculum based learning with The Scots College.

Kambala is well-connected across Sydney and beyond. The School provides a number of flexible transport options for families that live on the North Shore, the Southern Beaches and the inner city. These include subsidised Kambala bus services and a ferry service (run jointly with Kincoppal Rose Bay). Details are available on our Transport page.

We accept Boarders from Year 7.
